Thanks for yet another helpful post!

The only downside I see to Facebook so far is that it has so many features that some of them become very hard to find and use, let alone know they exist... Which brings me to a question: do you know how to setup a URL to a fan page with a nice-looking name, like the company name, in it?

Best Regards,

- Henrique

Good luck to the FTC. I, as I assume most online shoppers doing research on a product/service before they buy it, am not interested in what someone is being paid to say. I want to hear the good and the bad.

Social media shows promise as a platform for smaller retailers to organize a community of interest around their best customers, but it still hasn't penetrated enough to be a viable tool for most smaller retailers.

Interesting! I'm not sure it's making us less social, per se, but I do think we're at risk of becoming more superficially social than we realize. Constant contact with our networks give a false sense of intimacy.

Social media is a very powerful tool. Your article should be a wake-up call for anyone who is not actively present in social media. As you say, not being found in search results is not an option. But how can you know what people are saying about your brand or business, and more importantly, what are they saying right now, in order for you to take appropriate actions? Try the real time search engines.

As a forum owner, I'm always concerned with the threat from social networking sites. However, as a user I still find forums more useful and a better source of helpful advice than social networking sites.

...I’ve recently come up with my own interface for the vBulletin forum system...

Where can I view this?
